Englan's patented heating system

The majority of steam consumption on a cargo vessel is used for heating of Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) in storage tanks. Englan has developed a patented system, EFH, which significantly reduces the amount of energy spent on heating of Heavy Fuel Oil.

Efficient Fuel Heating (EFH)

The core of the EFH-system is that it allows for intermittent heating of only the volume of HFO that is to be transferred from the storage tank to a smaller heated daytank.

Reduced fuel consumption means that the EFH-system will have a positive economical impact from day one after installation, with significantly reduced operational costs.
